Then we have Janine Winters, a paediatric palliative care specialist from the USA working for the Otago Hospice with us in the studio. The hospice is quite a unique setting for grief, death and dying. It’s more of a ‘slow death’, with time for the person and family to prepare a bit more for the loss to come – as compared to a car accident that’s more of a shock. Janine talks to us about the struggles she has seen in people and gives us some thoughts on what might help us in the grieving process.
